The Breathing City

Amsterdam SMS messages on New Years Eve from Aaron on Vimeo.

This from Andrew Hudson-Smith’s Digital Urban. Hudson-Smith is Senior Research Fellow and Research Manager at University College London’s Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA). The visual, he writes, “captures the number of SMS messages sent from Amsterdam in the run up to New Years Eve. With data supplied by KPN Telcom you can see the city almost breath over time with a huge peak at the cross over to New Years Day.”

I just think it’s cool. That’s my academic analysis for today.
